Throughout the school year, the students will participate in positive behavior programs. Positivity empowers problem solving skills and teaches empathy and kindness towards others.

Last school year, our faculty and staff implemented a program called Peace Learning Circles (PLC). PLC is a process designed to teach social-collaborative skills within the academic setting of the classroom. PLC classrooms and PLC schools are predicated on four Mutual Agreements for Peace: Practice Attentive Listening, Give Appreciation, Right to Pass and Right to Participate, and Show Mutual Respect. The ultimate goal of a PLC classroom is to create a learning community where students can excel both personally and academically. In a PLC classroom the teacher “sets the stage” by explicitly teaching and modeling the Mutual Agreements.

Our school counselor will have a week of focus during the school year on “Be Kind to your Mind”. This curriculum and focus will be on mental health awareness
